Eric- You have atough time playing both sides of the fence.
Bottom line is CDMA is far superoir to GSM in about every way. That is why the mobile voice/data suppliers have decided to adopt it.
Let me ask you this, which is the better technology? cdma2000 or WCDMA? Which is more cost effective? Those Nokia slides are intended to mislead and their is no doubt about that.
The GSM crowd made great business moves with GSM proliferation. However they ingnored and bashed cdma because they couldn't make it work and when someone did it was serous compettition. Now that cdma is proven to be the best tecnology for mobile voice and data, they claim they now undeerstand it and can do it better. Yes that is their lie.
As far a Qualcomm bashing WCDMA compared to CDMA2000, they still do, but if carriers make the mistake of going to WCDMA anyway, Qualcomm will be there to help them out. That is there tone down.
BTW - "Right now, the confidence in Nokia's management is at a many-year low," said Johan Brostroem, an analyst with Hagstromer & Qviberg in Stockholm. "People, including myself, are going to be quite skeptical of their statements."
Question is, will Nokia follow the way of Mot.
