>>no one has the script for what we are about to collectively experience<<

Do you read science fiction? I think every script about the future has probably been written - the trick is picking which one. Hope it's not Soylent Green.

My guess is that everything any of us are about to experience also occurred in the past. Again, the trick is picking which past.

Hong Kong, of course, has a different future than the US. Formerly one of the last outposts of the sclerotic British Empire, one of the last few places colored red - red for the British Empire - now colored red for another reason - an outpost of the Chinese Empire. I find it difficult to believe that the enterprising (no pun intended) people of Hong Kong won't find a way to capitalize (again, no pun intended) on change. Think of the sophisticated, worldly, erudite Greeks, carving out their own niche in the Roman Empire.

>>no one is in charge<<

Maybe so, but I think the truth is that we are in charge - you, me, DJ, Pezz. We change the world, and the leaders run after us shouting, "Which way did they go? I must catch up with them, for I am the leader!";^)
