This appears tragic and unjust.
However, you appear to have declared your own jihad against anything associated with Islam. This statement for example, that you use to exemplify the treatement of women, who have been raped is not exempliary at all: "They are called "honor killings" , and account for nearly 1/2 of all the murders of young females in the country of Jordan , for instance ."
You point out that "honor killings" represent nearly half of the murders of young women in this country. How many young women are murdered? My guess is not many, but you conveniently leave this statistic out. Of those murdered, are rape victims commonly killed in this fashion and are the numbers again high as you imply; or is this rare, extreme, uncondoned behaviour that you use to advance bigoted and sensational hype against Muslims. The article you are referencing makes it clear that "there is no justification for this in the Koran or the Islam religion." When an ignorant moron from some small town in America misbehaves do you attribute it to our government? How about the Presidents behavior toward women over the last eight years; is the constitution responsible for that?
You take it upon your self to determine that the Qu'ran is powerless to do anything about this stuff. Well, OK. The Qu'ran is a book not a human agency. The Quran covers every kind of evil injustice that exists in creation as well as being a guide for a just and clean life. In that sense it is perfect. If it was just lovely poetry about spiritual things the message would be incomplete. It is written as a caution to believers. In essence, God is saying this evil is known about temporal existence and the human condition; that believers are likely to succum to all kinds of entrapments and since you humans have been warned, no one has an excuse. |
