I've finished chapter 3 of The Stranger. I actually like the book. I don't normally read anything that fits under the general umbrella of "literature." Perhaps it's time, in my dotage, that I revisite that distaste, which was formed many, many years ago.

The thing I liked best about it is how much it gets you cheering for law enforcement to bring down an arrogant, self-absorbed, clever, powerful individual.

I remember Anne Marie Fahey, now that you mention her. I'll put that book on my list. Mystery stories are more my style than Camus. And I share your special feelings about arrogant, etc. individuals.

I just got back from a lovely Ethiopian lunch to turn on CNBC and hear Joshua Bell playing West Side Story on the violin. (Life is sweet.) I had never heard of him. The arrangement and performance were wonderful. So I'll be shopping for music as well as books.

Have you compared the Edward Hamilton catalog with the web site? I don't want a catalog that leaves ink on my fingers. The absolutely best thing about the web is that I don't have to deal with newsprint and ink anymore.
