Ken,

So I get home and I have this St Lukes Hospital Healthbeat magazine waiting for me. On page 6 there is an article on EECP(Enhanced External Counterpulsation). I could not get a link for the article but here is how it works:

During treatment - 35 one hour sessions over the course of 7 weeks - patients lay on a padded table with adjustable cuffs wrapped around their calves and thighs.

The cuffs are then rapidly inflated while the heart is in its resting phase and deflated just before it beats. The result is an increased blood flow to the heart opening and expanding its microscopic network of small blood vessels. These channels create natural bypasses around clogged arteries boosting blood supply to oxygen starved areas of the heart and reducing its workload.

Seems to work pretty well. I wonder how the company gets paid. Is it strictly per sale or per procedure?

Joe
