OT: ROFL, Duray!
I insisted that it was "program insurance"...
Program insurance? ROFL. Not only do you not understand the concepts (which would be entirely understandable and forgivable if you didn't speak as if you knew the first thing about them), but you don't even get the names right? LOL!
That's portfolio insurance as a specific subset of program trading, Duray.
...with every Tom, Dick and Hairy financial algorithm programmer putting the same damn sell stop orders on the automata that cause the market to crater on Oct. 19, 1987.
Which is exactly how portfolio insurance (and a good number of forms of program trading, for that matter) doesn't work, as I explained. Again, the psychosis of the groping, desperate conspiracy theorist falls squarely within Colonel Richard Weaver's characterization.
My debating partner said it couldn't be..... Because the Brady Report said so.
Entirely untrue and misrepresentative of my post. Readers should read my entire message for the proper summation of my points.

I take that sort of deception - just as I did your decree that I'd "fallen" on whatever personal rating system you employ - to be both a personal compliment and a hearty endorsement of the points I made.
It is not, however - in light of your hilarious theories and support of heavy-handed (not to mention one-sided) regulatory/governmental paternalism - a surprise that you would, and in such a cowardly manner, so grossly skew the content of my message on another thread, without so much as including a link to the message.
Thank you! :)
