China is in the act.

First Network Washing Machine Debuts in China
The first network washing machine has recently made its debut in China.

Made by one of China's leading washing machine producers, Little Swan Corp. Ltd., based in east China's Jiangsu Province, the machine can realize two-way digital exchange through a simple network service.

The washing machine has an LCD monitor and friendly interface for easy operation. It can also download programs to refresh its washing mode.

Its remote control function also makes it possible for outdoor users to learn about the machine's working condition and even make changes to its working schedule by logging on to the Internet.

Despite that major home appliance producers around the world starting to develop information-technology products at the beginning of 1999, and that some virtually have turned out models, Little Swan took the lead to produce network washing machine in this area.
