Sure did, AMD warned potential users about a couple of power saver features that could cause problems if certain chipset components were ever used in combination - they check for these things ahead of time. Now let's how Intel deals with problems like that: 820 chipset - shipped a million + parts, found out from customers that 3 RIMMs don't work. 840 chipset - shipped hundreds of thousands of parts, found out from customers that MTH doesn't work. 1.13GHZ PIII - shipped parts but the customers were learning: before they accepted very many they checked and found out that the 1.13 PIII didn't work 900MHZ Xeon - shipped relatively few parts: Intel customers really know what to expect now, they found out that (as usual) the expensive new Intel chips don't work - and, once again, gave Intel (the doh! company) the bad news. Why do think INTC's motto is ItSmell Inside? It's from the odor of the bad parts.
