Oxford extends and expands hearing care contract with HEARx
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 1997--Paul A. Brown, M.D., chairman of HEARx Ltd. (AMEX:EAR), announced today that HEARx's contract with Oxford for the Medicare Advantage members has been extended for another year.
In addition, Dr. Brown pointed out that HEARx is now a preferred provider for diagnostic audiology services for the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut region for all of Oxford's commercial members.
Brown stated that HEARx has recently opened five (5) new HEARx centers in Philadelphia in anticipation of Oxford beginning to market in this region later this year. Brown stated he was pleased at the expanding relationship with Oxford which began early in 1996 and allowed HEARx to develop a center network in the Northeast.
HEARx, with the largest network of audio-vestibular rehabilitative centers in the $2 billion field of hearing services, operates 73 company-owned centers in Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon and Virginia. The company provides hearing care primarily to patients whose health insurance and managed care organizations have contracted with HEARx. |
