I remember reading a website which asked the question of what was the greatest invention for humankind. There were a lot of different answers. Personally, I think the horse collar was an extremely important invention.

The negative number was also important. Ironically, the arabs took it from the Hindus at the height of their political and religious power--but they never used it!

Hinduism incorporates several distinct philosophies. I do not know of any sensible grounds for divorcing the tremendous complexity and diversity of Hinduism--from the manifold colors and experiences of religious expression.
