Ok Uncle,

Will human rights improve as a result of the Olympics

You betcha. As a matter of fact from several Chinese sites I read, there were quite some whining from some Chinese, saying Olmpic is a conspiracy from the west, although I don't take those serious, that does reflect a certain degree of "fear" from certain portion of Chinese who are holding some very hostile attitude toward U.S. and its allies.

That's why Taiwan had showed its support behind the China bid for Olympic. By adding Olympic the burden onto China's shoulder. Beijing as to China is under the scrutiny of the world. The face loving Chinese government just added one more sensitive skin and there's no point of return now!

Are the ambitions of westerner business people impossible dreams?

Not impossible at all. With Olympic settled, the open to the world policy is affirmed. Now I believe WTO will be just a matter of time. By then China will have no other choice but to play by the rule.

In fact it is hard for anybody else to know how much China has changed. I have just finished watching a Chinese TV series, the title can be translated as "year after year", it's described several ordinary families from 1978 to 2000. Although there are some kiss commies ass kinds of performance, it still makes me think deep after. Really bring up a lot of long lost memories. Sort of say to myself, "man how time flies".

From now on the move toward international community will be accelerated, baring major upset such as Taiwan etc. There are already some successful stories in China from westerners. And there will be more to come in the future.

However this is actually a two way high way. There will also be some tough competition from China too. And that won't be just toys.

Will cdma triumph over the evil cabal?

Of course:-)

But the road won't be easy, Chinese still need a little time to get the core part of it and the cabals won't be sitting there still. However there will be no other choice for them. Just a couple days ago Beijing suffered yet another capacity break down with its gsm networks. There's no way they can add GPRS onto it. So the future is bright.
