The inconsistency of justice in this country has never been better illustrated than in this case.

How about the Chandra Levy case for an example of disproportionate attention.

Don't do anything unusual the media can get hold of or you will become a symbol, and the justice you receive will be out of all proportion to your crimes.


I agree with you that there is a lot of unfairness in the allocation of attention to various cases. But just because some crimes against children go unpunished doesn't mean that the penalty in this crime was inappropriate. I think that three years is just about right. We shouldn't abandon our outrage at brutal treatment of pets until and unless all human victims get justice.
