Oh so many great posts- I had to go get KK donuts-- (HAD to, you understand)-- and now am having trouble catching up.

Would you rather we put the children through more torment in front of a courtroom of people to avenge what happened to them ?

Pshawww--No wonder that didn't satisfy you. If our system causes such damage to a child in the process of prosecuting the criminal, then change the system. Dead victims don't appear in court, but we manage to convict without them. try the case without the presence of the child. Let the judge talk to the child somewhere non-threatening. Use the testimony of psychologists, doctors, teachers, etc. There has to be some solution. Nor prosecuting is just asking for it to recur.
