First time post on this board, maybe last. I enjoy Dr. Bob's TA posts here and have learned and benefited from same. Recently, I have been dismayed to read post after post of personal observations that appear to be more philosophical combined with some amateur psychological analysis of market sentiment and of posters meaning behind the meaning.
It puzzles me that a TA driven board could be constantly visited by people who have no respect or use for Technical Analysis.
What is your purpose for being here, people, if you have nothing to add to the discussion of TA, except to denigrate this method of market analysis?
It occurs to me that SI is a last bastion of dedicated traders with well-developed disciplines, but when a thread is successful in putting forth a market analysis method, consistently and with attention to the discipline, there always creeps in an element that essentially posts only to disrupt and take the best posters off their game.
This is what is going on with this board now, and I have seen it before on many very good threads, some of which no longer exist, or have fallen to disuse.
I trust the Dr. Bob will continue to post his excellent TA, and hope that the fine cadre of traders who successfully deploy the TA discipline daily hang in there, too.
I also hope that those whose objective is to disrupt and misdirect the board, for reasons of ego, or for other motives, like perhaps compensation, are RECOGNIZED and ignored, so that the TA/trading objectives of the board may continue unburdened.
