I doubt you'll see people feverishly preparing for war, but I expect they're where you can't see them. It's the prudent thing to do. You never know when the preparations will be needed, unfortunately.

Despite the events of World War II, it's very hard for me to picture Japan as a threat - they seem to have evolved beyond that.

I also don't think the US is a threat, at least, we aren't going to start World War III.

Hitler let all the world know what he wanted. I've actually read a bit of Mein Kampf, and after taking the class on the history of the Nazis, understand them much better than I did. They were planning on war from the beginning - they wanted to invade other countries and take their territory and subjugate the populations into slavery. They never made that a secret. Nobody believed them because it was too absurd.

Better to stay prepared.
