Gottfried and bosquedog,

Thanks for the try, but still no go. The toolbar isn't the problem. It's the taskbar (with the "Start" icon) which usually is at the bottom of the screen, but suddenly is appearing at the top of my screen)... and I can't drag it down from the top. When I click on it (even next to the "Start" icon), I can drag it down to the middle of the screen but it's spread out covering the entire upper half of the monitor and the top can't be dragged down. I still can't figure how and why it went from the bottom of the monitor to the top of the monitor. And, no, under view>toolbars there is no "lock toolbars" (using WIN98SE with IE5.5). This problem never occurred until just after I used enditall and then did a Norton Disc Doctor (Scan Disk) and a Norton defrag (SpeedDisK) and Norton registry defrag and rebooted.

Hoping someone can come up with a solution.

Many thanks,

Marty
