Jerome, Whether Cass is right or wrong it is refreshing to view the world/market through the eyes of a futurist rather than some frenetic day trader. As with most things the answers lie somewhere in between. And even Cass has his caveats--for instance,if there is a war all bets are off. Actually his analysis of the Presidential elections as a cause at least in the severity of the current decline was something I had thought of and mentioned back then. Bush presidency is still a concern to me. Whether intended or not, the cornerstone of Bush 11 seems to be "benign neglect" for a whole host of issues. Benign neglect doesnt play well on Main Street even though on certain issues i might agree with it. mike
