Evidently so Softechie...I am seeing some layoffs in town here, but overall the economy seems to be weathering this stagnation...so far. My home value is up over 50% since we bought it 4 or 5 years ago. Also, some not so poor suckers bought some land across the lake from us and paid a small fortune. I bought our lake place for less than 10 thousand in the 1990s. Our lake is not very large, is very shallow and weedy, and is not known as a good sport fishing lake. The water level this year is way down too and the rock piles are very visible. OK, there are some VERY nice northern pike in there, but I doubt anyone will catch a record fish there. I heard the suckers are from Minnetonka where lake land values are extreme. Lake Minnetonka is a very large lake with many bays and close to the metro area. Lakeshore there goes for up to $1 Mill/acre.
