I used your post #13327 to create my boot disk and it boots up properly with access to my CD drive. I understand about the FAT 32.

To restore your image from D: to C: you'll must have both Drive Image software and the image you wish to restore available.

The Drive Image Software exists on the drive that will have been removed, however I would think that the Drive Image rescue disks should have enough on them to restore the image from D after formatting. Otherwise what good would an image be in the event of the C drive crashing? I may be missing something here but I originally bought Drive Image 4.0 (and the D drive), in the belief that I would be able to restore the image from D on to a new C drive in the event of a crash of C.

COMMAND.COM contains the code for processing DOS commands. It is necessary to boot your system. It will NOT restore an image or format a disk. (Nothing else will work in DOS if it's missing.)

Does this mean that my boot disk, setup as above, will not format the new C: drive?

Thanks for your patience.

Bob
