Interesting that no state will allow collection of DNA from executed individuals though to show after-the-fact that some were innocent. Why won't the states allow it? Because they are fearful that some will be shown to have been innocent.

As an aside, there have been thousands of men -- some incarcerated for decades -- who were convicted of rape. These men have begrudgingly all been released from various state prisons because they were able to prove that they were innocent of the crime for which they were unjustly convicted.

Now, there are still those in the public who call for castration of convicted rapists. And... what if the punishment for rape was death (as it is in some countries)?
