Considering almost everyone associated with Iran Contra either went to jail or ended up in disgrace, I suppose you could say there was a LOT of evidence and conviction about what they did. The fact that they all fell on their swords and destroyed evidence (little different than lying about a sexual affair) to protect the great Alzheimer Hero is the only reason ronnie didn't end up like Nixon, since the stuff he was doing and underwriting made Nixon look like a petty crook....which of course he was.
