Re: If Intel beats projections by a cent or two, then Q2 results would have been excellent

Last year's Q2 earnings were 50 cents per share. This year projections are for an 80% decline in earnings, year on year. Just because it's expected that sales and earnings will be in the toilet, it doesn't make those results "excellent" when the news is released.

Historically, Intel has sold at 25 to 35 times earnings. If 11 cents per share (quarterly) is to be considered excellent news, we can probably look forward to a stock price of no more than .11 (cents) * 4 (quarters) * 35 (Best P/E Ratio) or $15.40 per share.

If those results are painted as lousy and soon to change (as I expect them to be), the stock price will probably stay about where it is.
