Do you think McCarthy-esque is an insult? After the fall of the Soviet Union, after the former nations of the Soviet Bloc turned to the west and opened up their archives, it turned out that he was right, more often than wrong. Communists did infiltrate the US government. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were guilty. Alger Hiss was guilty. Whittaker Chambers, that fat, unpleasant man, told the truth. Nixon was right. McCarthy was exonerated. Did you somehow miss that?
Are all Communists inherent liars? I would never subscribe to such a broad generalization - but some are. Cockburn and Chomsky are well-known liars. Hitchens isn't in their class, but he has a very slanted take on things, e.g., his book about Mother Teresa. The research I did this weekend substantiates the fact that Shahak was a liar, as well. Did I mention Edward Said? He's a liar, too, but I don't know whether he's a Communist, just someone who tells lies to promote the interests of the PLO.
I am going to add here, not for your benefit, because I don't give a damn what you think about me, but for the benefit of others, that I am appalled by mistreatment of Arabs by Jews as well as vice-versa. |
