NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 2001--The Electric Power Procurement Alliance (EPPA) has endorsed AES NewEnergy for the third time since New York City's electricity markets were opened to retail competition.

The EPPA has given AES NewEnergy its endorsement as a provider of electricity service to its members under Phase IV of Con Edison's Retail Access Program.

``AES NewEnergy's experience in the dynamic energy market, coupled with its innovative products, will continue to give EPPA members the benefit of partnering with a world-class energy service provider.
