For AMD to knock out the incumbant, they would have to go into markets where Intel is not. They would have to find new markets. They have to care about shareholder interests. It's not impossible, but right now, they are not close to getting it done.

How could they accomplish this? Intel is everywhere. AMD has committed all their resources to processor development and has little cash to toss around acquiring other companies. AMD is committed and I see little chance of them diversifying their product line and unfortunately, it is Jerry's purpose in life to attack Intel's boot with AMD shareholders faces.
