Dan, if you haven't noticed, all techs are in the dumper this year. Comparing the results of a quarter this year with the same quarter last year is a needless exercise. The exception would be AMD's Q1 2001 results, which made AMD seemingly immune to the ailment affecting other techs, but even that immunity couldn't continue.

Besides, raising the P/E argument is a curious one for an AMD stockholder like yourself (presumably). Analysts are expecting AMD to make 43 cents a share for 2001. At AMD's current price of 20, that would lead to a P/E ratio of 46.5, which is well above the 25 to 35 P/E "standard" that you raise for INTC stock.

But hey, at least we can agree on one thing. Both AMD and INTC have tons of "potential," right? ;-)
