Douglas, <<I think this type of marketing/education of vendor specific solutions is what KJ might have been referring to as "cookie cutter" SANs (not available at your local Frys).>> It was exactly what I was alluding to. May be not one size fits all, but it's fairly close. Send your support personnel to a few of these classes and up and running you go. Call tech support for specific questions. This is what I envision FC will become. FC is a fairly new technology, new mode of operation. Requirements for backup, transaction journalling, etc, are the same. Operation personnel just have to learn new ways of doing their job.
