I have a funny story. Or at least I think it is funny. I teach 2nd and 3rd graders right now. And we watch a bit of a movie at the end of the day. We watched Hercules last week And this week it's Willy Wonka. My kids asked today how Grandpa Joe could get out of bed if he'd been there for 20 years. Now these kids have seen a ton of TV. Have they believed everything they've seen? One wonders. I stopped the tape. I said "That's an actor. He hasn't been in bed at all- except at night to sleep, just like us, and then to play the guy in this movie. The rest of the time he's just a guy- and he isn't Grandpa Joe. This is written by Roald Dahl- remember James and the Giant Peach? He wasn't real either. And his parents didn't get run over by a rhino. Ok?" Nods all around. Now there is a small voice from the back... "Does this mean Zeus isn't king over Jesus?" Ahem Yes- "BE as little children." ROFL I am sure glad I am not.
