Bryant claimed on the CC and in a later CNBC interview that their wide range in guidance for Q3 was due to the fact that the quarter is heavily loaded in September, and that if the timing is off, and things slip a little into October, they would be at the low end of guidance. Their guidance also assumes the quick adoption of i845+SDRAM. Everyone at Intel must have their fingers crossed. SIS735 and nVidia nForce will be in force in September. I wonder how many of those back-end orders Intel will get when OEMs see that Duron+nForce beats P4+i845. Bring on the benchmarks and PC rag reviews.
