The point nobody wants to get into.

Huh? Aiding GPS gets you a better position location system than any other:

1) More accuracy than other cell phone location systems
2) More privacy than other cell phone location systems
3) Location determination as rapid as any system (a few seconds)
4) Works as well in a building as any cell phone system - the only place won't work is underground (as in a metro stop).

So what is it that no one wants to talk about?
