Yeah, this is true. A friend in Bavaria related what happened to him (he is a distinguished looking businessman and drives a nice new Volvo) when he went on a sales visit to Luxembourg. He was stopped when driving home and he and his car were THOROUGHLY searched. Huge hassle, delay and inconvenience.The police were looking for the papers you get when you put money in a bank in Luxembourg; of course they didn't find any since he was on a legitimate trip. This is happening daily; the Polizei are quite serious about the black currency flight which is going on over there.
Reminds me of the old story (true?) of the canny Hitler henchman who was able to get out of Germany, at the end, with a toolbox and some greasy tools in the trunk of his car. The tools had been made up earlier...out of platinum.
