Still comparatively few sites use Java. Some do fancy menus, tickers and scrolling news windows using Java applets, but most avoid it. Perhaps you're thinking of Javascript which, despite the name, is totally unrelated to Java; many many sites use Javascript. This will be unaffected by MS's move.
