I think he is right. I don't know if AMD stuffed the channel or not this quarter but that's only a short-term effect anyway. The main problem is Intel accelerating the P4 ramp. If AMD wants to maintain ASPs (even in the extremely low range they are now), they have to stop trying undercutting Intel in price at a given clock-speed. If they don't, things will get much worse IMO. P4 is clearly scaling much better than Athlon and Intel can easily leapfrog AMD on every new clock-speed introduction.

I don't expect things to get better until Hammer arrives. I really hope that AMD optimized it for clock-speed not IPC. It needs to be introduced at >3.0GHz for AMD to stay competitive.
