JH, Nice Analysis!

Now, if we could only legislate that 11% return. <gg>

Looking at every earning's report that comes out for the Big Boyz, it is amazing how most of the companies play the earnings reporting came straight up. The number you see actually is the number. A good example this morning was EMC that actually included the restructuring charge in the reported number. WFC yesterday actually included a one-time charge in the reported number. Then, you get companies like AOL that make you hunt for the real number (acutally a .17 loss vs. the reported .32 gain).

I'm not a financial type accountant but it is my understanding that to truly be a one time charge, in accordance to GAAP, the non-recurring item would be reported net of tax effect. Otherwise, it doesn't meet the GAAP definition of a one-time charge.
