I have never referred to fetuses as sperm.

We were discussing abortion. Abortion is performed on fetuses. In one of your posts you talked about blobs of sperm in the context of the thing that is aborted not having any rights. I believe it was once and only once but you did use the term.

that anything with human DNA ought to be considered as persons

My statement was more that any individual organism with human DNA and any significant level of human potential is a member of the human species, and that humans have rights that deserve to be respected. A loose hair has human DNA but it is not a member of the human species.

but I didn't consider your bare statement to be very "meaningful": you remember...when you made the unilateral
declaration that certain of the unborn did not have very "meaningful" rights?

In that post I meant not that the rights are not that important but that they are useless in a practical sense. You have a natural and constitutional right to free speech but if you are drowning underwater in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and no one is around, and you are not going to be saved you won't get much practical use out of the right in the rest of your life. Perhaps "meaningful" was not the best term and it caused you to misunderstand my thoughts on the mater.
