True.

One of the oddities of Mr. Clinton, though, was that his "message" never really resonated with certain segments of the electorate. In '96 (maybe '92 as well, I haven't seen the stats), I am told that if you divide the electorate into quadrants -- married men, unmarried men, married women, unmarried women -- Clinton only won amongst ONE of the four quadrants. Unmarried women (which includes elderly widows) voted for him by such an overwhelming margin that his loss among the other three categories was overcome, so to speak. People like Mr. and Mrs. Levy don't count for politicians like that.
