Dawg, Well thanks for the warning. I wonder if the fact that it always has the power light running has anything to do with it's limited lifespan? As a last resort yesterday I reinstalled my operating system to see if I had somekind of internal error that was causing the computer to not find the scanner Wow! I think I would have just blown the $200 and bought a new scanner and saved myself the trouble. Of course hindsight is 20/20! Let us know if the problem is resolved after you get your new scanner. I really want to know if it is the 4200C that caused it.
