Applied Micro (AMCC) 17.00 -0.42: Reports Q1 loss of $0.05 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of ($0.05), vs year-ago earnings of $0.05; revenues fell 44.5% to $41.21 mln from a year-ago of $74.19 mln. Company offers no additional guidance, but says that in light of continuing weak conditions, it is undertaking additional restructuring, including layoffs of 5%; see press release.

Elantec Semi (ELNT) 26.11 -4.92: Company reports Q3 earnings of $0.08 per share, $0.02 better than the consensus of $0.06; Q3 revenues reported at $20.5 million vs. consensus est of $20.1 million, a 33% sequential decrease from the $30.6 million reported in the second fiscal quarter of 2001; feels business has stabilized but continues to have poor visibility; expects Q4 net income in the range of $0.09-$0.11 range which is in line to slightly higher than current consensus; see press release.

Celestica (CLS) 65.05 -5.85: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.41 a share, $0.01 better than the First Call consensus of $0.40, vs year-ago earnings of $0.30; revenues rose 27.2% to $2.66 bln from a year-ago of $2.09 bln. Company warns for Q3; sees EPS of $0.27-0.35 and revenues of $2.2-2.5 bln vs Multex consensus estimates of $0.43 and $2.69 bln; see press release.
