Nice straw man, Tim. Anyway, on another favorite W policy, there's this story today, on W's magnanimous "understanding of the existence and difference of other opinions."

Democrats Are Warned on Missile Stance nytimes.com
I think this means that the Dems better cave and give W however many hundreds of billions he wants for Star Wars, because otherwise he won't be able to "negotiate" abrogation of the ABM treaty with the Russians, and will have to do it unilaterally. And anyway, they just had a successful test, who cares how many tests failed before that? All very logical, not to mention "understanding".

W will probably get his way, too, multi-billion dollar military procurement boondoggles tend to get bipartisan support, and this one is going to be the mother of all boondoggles. Of course, when the deficit blows up again, it'll all be somebody else's fault.
