I consider myself in the feminist camp , although as Po said, we come with various and sundry views now. I found Anita Hill to be disingenuous - what woman prior to then , if working in a previously male dominated field, had not been a victim of sexual harrassment in one form or another - and learned to tap dance around it - in order to keep their job ? It was a common occurence- and yet most of us managed to advance in postitions , in spite of those challenges. Anita Hill was an attorney - are we really to believe she could not have finessed herself out of an awkward situation ? For a lot of us , we had to fight to get to the position we were in - were we going to give someone the chance to say " Well I didn't think you were going to be able to handle it....I should have stayed with hiring men."

I am grateful for the feminists who fought the early wars , for without some of the more extreme voices, none of us would have had the chances we later received. They literally pried the windows open for us...to the point where women today can actually walk in the front doors.
