Why be so concerned about teaching the rapture? In my eyes, it is only a secondary message, at best - not nearly as important as forgiveness, mercy, love, meekness, etc. As I understand it, the rapture only applies to those living at the time. It is something that may or may not effect any particular Christian. However, God's love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, power, etc. are here for all of us - right now, not at some time in the future, if we live that long.
