You could have said "this seems to indicate that Rather..." But, no, you said "clearly." Well, there's nothing clear about that conclusion. It's one possible conclusion, although I don't think the most likely one. After all, just because they didn't cover it, they couldn't have expected the other outlets not to, so what do they gain for the Dems? Their own explanation that they were trying to not sink to the feeding frenzy level is plausible. After all, there's been a lot of breast beating in the media over their image. CBS might also have missed the story early and took that tack rather than be embarrassed in their race to catch up.

Just like the infamous petition, the CBS action doesn't inform the question, let alone support your conclusion. If they develop a pattern of not carrying stories where Democrats don't look good, then maybe you can trot out your "certainly."
