<<After all, the ghetto turned out to be much sweeter for many a Jew than "ordinary life" for most Gentiles>>
The fact that the Jews have survived as people and those that were not murdered thrived despite persecution is not an excuse for anti-semitism. Perhaps next you would ask how bad the slavery could be - African-Americans have survived, or why should Tutsis complain – they now rule Hutus. Sounds like apologia for the worst behavior humans can offer. By the same token, what are Palestinians complaining about – there seems to be more of them now than ever. Surely you don’t suggest that they should get more of what they are getting?
<<Europe's urban ghettos still exist, however, their inhabitants have changed: the Jews of yore have been replaced by Muslims (from Morocco, Algeria, Turkey, subsaharan Africa)>>
But if you succeed in returning Jews back to their ghettos, wouldn’t you complain that they are displacing Muslims yet again? |
