Let's get back to this: Yes, because the minute men and such were for the most part of the various forces put together by Britain during the French and Indian War. References? That was a small war. Only a small part of the American colonists were involved in it. Now produce proof that they were the ones firing those guns in Massachusetts in 1775. The British did attempt to seize weapons in Concord but the results were not to their liking. Ah, but that was a little late. They'd already decided they were at war with Britain. Unlikely they would hand over their weapons peacefully.
