I presented my NASDAQ/dollar scenario to my friend from the Department of Industry this evening at the Labor Club (BTW real cheap beer, ANU economists hang out there too, about $US1 for a 15oz beer). I try to figure out what they are thinking inside the department even though he won't tell me outright. He bought into my USD scenario though NASDAQ=1000 seemed too outrageous for him. But my timing around Jan-Feb 02 for the stock market bottom, made him say "people are expecting the US to be in official recession in the first quarter of 2002". By the way, Jan-Feb is 9 months from the April bottom... I based it on the same slope from the Sep 01 top as the big wave 3 down from Sep 00 to Apr 01. Everything is falling together....

I probably couldn't be more wrong <g>
