J, I would not compare them the way you did. nyt is an integrated controlled opinion. NewMax does focus a lot on a more conservative set of stories. Newmax also links to many other writers and does not have any oversight over what they write. I've seen several stories critical of President Bush and some of his decisions. I see nyt as very left of center with news to promote views. Newsmax is right of center but the writers present a more balanced perspective.
