Dear Pete, "Well we will see when i845 actually arrives in the DIY market. If it does not arrive by middle of August, i845 missed. If it does, we should see how many i845 PCs show up in stores (surrepeticious marks can give an idea of the speed of sales, turns, etc.). Then at least we can debate how it is going." There is still a remote chance that i845 will flop. It may even destroy to a certain extent the newly built reputation of the P4. It all depends on whether there will be a lot of reports in the PC magazines and even newspapers saying "buyers beware, these computers do not hold on to their promises". Of course, if the performance numbers by TecChannel.de are true and i845 is only 5-10% slower than i850 then this chance is rather small. Anyway, AMD PR should have some serious talks to the press people... Peter
