David Readerman, who wrote the Yahoo! piece is one of the most highly-regarded analysts in the business. Ask anyone in finance at Microsoft.

Look back at Readerman's piece: "Our new 1997 EPS estimate is $0.05 on higher net revenues of $48.7 million, up from our previous EPS estimate of ($0.01) on net revenues of $44.7 million."

$4 million in extra net revenues results in an additional profit of $0.06 per share. I don't think you appreciate the operating leverage in a fixed-cost business.
