I think it's more to do with the area becoming more popular and more people in the water than the pier attracting sharks. When I was a kid we used to go to the Keys. Always had a spotter on the pier when swimming and only swam when the water was clear. I think a trip on the Delta Queen sounds like fun. They run short trips on the Julia Bell Swain out of Peoria on the Illinois. Some day I may get over there and take a ride.
