Peter,

Boy you sure are going off on a tangent with wild theories about intel etc.

The facts are that Intel is trying to slip the noose around AMD's throat.

On low end they are selling celeries for $50-60 destroying AMD's low end market.

At high end they are using Mhz to destroy AMD's ASP in mid-high end desktops.

They have high margins in business segments and laptops and servers to let them do this.

AMD desperately needs higher Mhz parts.
AMD desperately needs 0.13 to come sooner than later to reduce costs and increase Mhz.

The facts are that AMD has completely screwed up their product plans this year. DDR is a BUST with low volumes and lots of bugs. Palomino is a Mhz BUST.

You keep worrying about PIV costs.

It is IMMATERIAL if PIII die costs $20 and PIV die costs $50. As long as Intel can average $200 for PIV - Intel wins.

regards,

Kash
